Standish-Hickey State Recreation Area is on list of 70 parks set to close due to state budget cuts. This area offers a virgin stand of Redwoods, camping, hiking, fishing, and swimming in the South Fork of the Eel River. One of the campgrounds has already been closed due to budget cuts.
