For my friends that were wondering what I was up to, shoulder surgery went well and I am on the mend. In a little over a year I will embark on about a 6 month 2180 mile journey to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. (The exact length of the trail varies a little year to year). My son Cole is also planning to thru-hike with me which is awesome because he is a great hiking partner. My daughter Charisse and son-in-law Neal will be providing a huge support role by living in my home, taking care of day to day stuff and the animals and of course sending resupplies when needed. Lots to do to prepare over the next year so I am sure time will fly by, which is good because the excitement is steadily growing.
Images from my travels across North America interspersed with ramblings about my current interests. Highlights include images from the Appalachian Trail,Pacific Crest Trail,John Muir Trail,CA State Parks, Yosemite NP,Lassen NP,Tahoe, Reno Great Balloon Race, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Grass Valley, Nevada City, Night Sky, Astrophotography, Landscape Photography, Wild horses,Draft Horses, PBR and Rodeo, my favorite places and random subjects I find while exploring the road less traveled.
