Camelopardalids Meteor Shower
Cloud cover and smoke made the normally dark skies over Nevada County very hazy. I went out to photograph the new meteor shower and to test out the Sony NEX 3N for star photography. The few meteorites I saw were bright enough to see through the haze and moved much slower than the Persieds did. As far as meteor showers are concerned, this one was a bit of a bust. I was very pleased with my camera though. It looks like I will be able to do some star photography along the AT next year if the conditions are right. Here are the few shots that I got last night, faint and small due to the haze and clouds.
Very faint, but there are 2 satellites streaking down through the sky side by side
